Some of my regular readers may notice the referral box in the right sidebar. I have been contacted by several people and organizations wanting to advertise or even buy my website. I hesitate at that because I want to provide solid universal information, rather than become a billboard. I want the site to provide my retirement income eventually, but do not want to go commercial crazy just for the sake of a few short term dollars. I am much more comfortable providing information, here is what happened.

I was recently contacted by one of the principles of Recovery Connection about the possibilty of our sites working together. It turns out the man I was speaking to was Jonathan Huttner whose fine articles I have used on this site.

We made a lunch date and I realized that he and his site was the real deal,

a referral site where someone looking for help could talk with a real trained person,

they also have a chat line.I feel a lot more comfortable looking someone in the eye when it comes to something real important to me. Go ahead and click on the graphic or pick up the phone and call, they are professionals providing timely information on addiction recovery

Here are some details on his site from a recent press release.

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 — Online Drug rehabilitation telephone number directory web site, www.recoveryconnection.org, recently updated their drug rehab resources page. The new page encourages users to participate by adding resources to their database of useful information.
By allowing contributions from users, the site can offer an unlimited amount of resources to help those seeking recovery help. Recovery Resources is broken down into categories, like addiction treatment and health resources, professional associations, government agencies, and others to which site visitors can post links, articles, and more.

(They) have taken the necessary steps to moderate all content posted to the site. Web sites often encourage users to participate or to contribute "user-generated" content as a way to increase popularity of the site, but user contribution can lead to some unexpected results. Often, content coming from random users has an increased risk of receiving irrelevant or inappropriate content. There is an increased concern for inappropriate stories or misinformation about drug rehab or drug abuse. According to the site's Online Marketing Director, Paul Geller, "(They) have taken the necessary steps to moderate all content posted to the site."

All editorial guidelines must be followed. Editorial guidelines and instructions for becoming a resource are posted on the website at http://www.recoveryconnection.org/links_directory/. Your web site will be reviewed and you will be notified upon acceptance. Recovery Connection reserves the right to reject any web site that is not aligned with our editorial requirements. <
Drug rehab and is becoming a highly competitive online market and innovative approaches, like allowing users to post resources, must be taken to make sure reliable, relevant information is still given precedence over the throngs of ad-driven sites that saturate the search results for information on topics including in-patient rehab, out-patient rehab, drug detox, rehab centers, and more.
