I have been suffering with these issues since a long time but after reading these tips I started to struggle with my spirituality life. By praying, serving, exercising, and learning helped me a lot. The point you have shared about physical fitness and proper diet is a good one and useful tip.

I am the child of two addicts and I find trouble finding spirituality with the self.
When I read all these tips I couldn't help but think that I'm already doing these things yet I still struggle with anxiety over these issues.

I'm not trying to say I'm "above it" but I was wondering if there were any tools available when those tips don't work. I find that I struggle with finding time for myself and meditating. I've always spread myself really thin and sometimes I think its because I don't want to examine myself and find any flaws that I'm afraid to work on.
I find that my anxiety culminates during work and right before I go to sleep. Not expecting any answers from anyone just posting it as a first step for myself to become aware of my issues.

I think these are great tips for everyone, not just those addiction recovery people. I like to have time to mediate, study my scriptures and study others things in life, praying, serving, socializing, exercising, and learning. Life is good and we just need to enjoy it to better our well-being. thanks for this great post

As one of the other commenters has pointed out, this is no cure for addiction, and recovery from it is indeed a journey versus a destination. These are excellent tips for making that journey as easy as possible. I especially like that you have given tips or things that should be done regularly, as recovery has to be taken day by day.

I am an addict in recovery. There is absolutely No cure, just deliverance. Get rid of the strong man, then the lesser spirits....Once you are set free, stay away from any one or anything that these spirits from the pit of hell dwell. Hang with the right bunch...

I offer a Yogoda Self-Help addiction recovery formula without cost, sending the formula page as requested (by e-mail or surface mail), along with a copy of Yogoda Perspective in Addiction Recovery. I promote the self-help recovery formula as an extension of the mission to the West of Paramhansa Yogananda (1893-1952), author of "Autobiography of a Yogi." His teachings were my training and personal service for fifteen years as a resident of his training communities in Southern California.
