I just didn’t want to get out of bed today. Why?
Because I didn’t feel like going to the hospital and sitting in a lounge chair while they drip a series of chemicals in me for 7 hours. Maybe the title of this post should be “It’s My Blog And I’ll Whine If I Want To”.
Back when I started this blog 7 months ago or so I wrote a post “How To Handle A Sucky Day In Recovery“, where I essentially said be cool and keep doing the next right thing. I also bitched about a recurring leg muscle pull. Well a doctor has a fool for a patient , as I am now 12 weeks into Chemotherapy for Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer. This 6 months after I got off Interferon for Hepatitus C treatment. I really don’t want to be sick today.
I am actually on vacation and will be in Las vegas in a couple of days with some other bloggers to learn how to make this site better. I’m sure the advice that will be given doesn’t include being on the pity pot, but I really don’t want to go to the hospital yet again. But one foot in front of the other…
What will make me go is the fact that I have come to believe that my Higher Power has a plan for me and it does not include me not doing the footwork to stay alive.

You know some people say that the pity pot isn’t a good place to sit and simmer…I’m a believer that as long as you don’t stay stuck in pity, it can be a healthy motivating factor to finding a sense of happiness and joy.
I wish I had words of comfort or somrthing so inspiring to write to make you feel better. But I don’t know the journey your on and I have no personal experience with cancer within my own life to offer you my petty opinon on what your feelings should or should not be.
But I can write with certainty that what you wrote….
“…. the fact that I have come to believe that my Higher Power has a plan for me and it does not include me not doing the footwork to stay alive.”
Is the same belief I have for you….you have a story and you will be a message of hope for the next people to walk this path you are now on.
Here is a BIG *HUG* and I hope your days get better…
Thanks MM, could alwasy use a hug, and yes things do look better.
