Addiction Recovery Poem

by Bill Urell on

PAUSE

Time for a station identification break

Moments to be one

With myself and God

Redirected, recollected, released

Somewhat at peace

On the pathway home with my soul

Only love lives here

No room for any fear

Reservations for preservation

Only temporary

While I rebuild trust

Surrender

I must

To me, the beginning bit says it all. Pause and take a break. I don’t feel like you can be pushed into drug and alcohol rehabilitation. I think that is has to be a choice.

There has to be something to trigger it. It is that “station identification”. Something that interrupts the flow of your lifestyle.
