Nice post. We recently looked into the research on blackouts as well, and it seems like the speed with which one drinks, and anything else that specifically impacts a person’s rate of BAC increase affects how likely a blackout is.

I remember how my grandpa used to have blackouts because of alcohol. But then again, he was sucking those bottles like there was no tomorrow, so maybe that’s why.

Great podcast, lots of new stuff to find out. For instance, I knew that some types of alcohol make you more predisposed to blackouts than others, but I didn’t know that the speed with which you drink matters that much. Good to know.
