I think the average person would realize this and stop drinking until after the baby is born. But people who have addictive personalities just have one thing in mind: immediate gratification. So without even consider the impact on the baby, the drink goes into the mouth and down the throat.
Its sad, but some people just want instant gratification and don’t think about the long term effects.
My parents are foster parents, so I have seen first hand what happens to these poor children when their parents drink, I have seen 3 generations of family suffering with fetal alcohol syndrome.
I believe its better today than in the past, but more needs to be done to break the cycle.
I think we must also understand that pregnant or not, we’re looking at a person dealing with an addiction. And it must be very difficult going through both things. And I agree it’s better today than it used to be in the past and it’s great that people are getting more aware about the risks of alcohol while pregnant. If you’re pregnant and dealing with alcohol dependency, seek help now because it’s never too late save you and your baby’s life.

I agree with Raymond. It’s an addiction, a sickness. Pregnant or not you have to treat her. Just go and seek help. Drinking while being pregnant is awfull.
