What a great post! It’s a warning that none of us should forget. Too often, we blindly trust doctors to tell us what to do to fix a problem without considering the possible consequences. It’s great to keep potential addictions in mind when dealing with prescriptions. Thanks for the information!

When learning about all the different types of drugs, I remember my son was particularly scared when he learned that mixing two of the wrong kind is potentially fatal.

I think that the most abused drug is alcohol. People don’t realize that it is a drug and so they drink it way to often.

Great post, though I think it’s important to point out that most users of prescription drugs don’t ever become dependent on them. Also, children of parents who are rightfully prescribed these drugs to deal with actual conditions often pilfer the drugs and use them illicitly. Parents who are prescribed psychoactive medication need to be very aware of this and take the necessary precautions to assure that only they have access to their medications.
