I can definitely relate to a lot of this….reminds me of the days when drinking and drugging was still fun, when it was still a great trip, a great adventure for me.

Of course, it stopped being an adventure, and the outcome was always the same. Took me a few years to figure this out and move on, and thank God that I finally did. Yes, it used to be fun, but I got to a point where I was forever chasing that ultimate high, and it just wasn’t attainable any more. I was either frustrated and sober or drunk and blacked out. No more fun in between time. And so I made a decision.

But Robin Williams does a masterful job of bringing back the memories….too funny! Thanks so much for the video, and the reminder of why I finally made the decision to change.

Watchining this video helps me look at why I stopped drinking and using and got into recovery, I never wish to shut the door on the past but I don’t live in it, reminders like this keep me full of gratitude for how my life is today.

I got clean in 19 months ago in a treatment centre in South Africa called Carter Gordon Clinic a life saving decision the best one I ever made.

I swore off alcohol completely. Not because of rehab or anything. When I came to volunteer in South Africa, I learned about alcohol abuse and the destructive consequences it has for the abuser and his/her environment. That’s when, as a statement I stopped having a ‘drink’. Ever since, I noticed how intolerable society is towards non-drinkers.
