I'm one of sex addition. And I think A male sex addict is prone to a shorter treatment than women. Women sex addict are not vocal to friends and often keeps it as a secret. While men share his adventure during sexual intercourse women keeps it secret. A male addict can be treated immediately from the time they share thoughts to their friends. While female addicts have less time to express their thoughts and merely afraid to consult anyone. With regards to shame and guilt, the reasoning base on traditional and cultural aspects, women were vastly degraded with people have known them of their addiction and respect down grades and most of the time treated as a sex toy.

Sexual addiction is classified as a "process" of addiction. In a process addiction, the euphoric feeling, or stimulant, comes from chemicals released into the brain, rather than external sources. The mind gradually becomes accustomed to the release of these chemicals and is continually looking for resources to achieve this stimulation. This may stem from the food, the thrill of competition, put yourself in dangerous situations, or sexual stimulation. Sexual addiction can take many forms, from the use of pornography and masturbation to repeated sexual relations, hiring prostitutes and voyeurism. In extreme cases, addiction can involve sexual harassment, rape and even murder. The many forms of sexual addiction have one thing in common, the behavior is done secretly and the sex addict becomes adept at hiding this secret life of those who are closest to him.
