Depression is something that needs time and someone to talk to and make an advice or at least listen in order to express how he/she feels and not be more buried on emotional depression.

Hello, thank you for this article. For me, when I had my depression episodes, poetry worked best. Normally I'm not very much into poetry, but in 2005 I had a severe depression lasting for 4 months. During that time, I wrote like 50 poems in my language (non-English) - it just gushed from me. Strange feeling still when I remember those times.

Great article. I also find these suggestions are great from channeling children's frustrations to someplace positive.

I think that can be so helpful. Art is all about who you are as a person. That was a great topic you share on us. Depression is very dangerous because it will kill your own life. Thank you.

Whenever I feel down in the dumps I try to find an activity to get me out of my funk. Once I tried hobby car modelling. I bout a model of a '95 Skyline and put it together. Glad to say that it got me off the dark mood I was in.

So whenever you find yourself depressed go out and find something to do. Your heart migt not be in it at first, just continue to find something to amuse you and take your mind off things.

In order to kick depression to the curb you truly need to be proactive. This article offers some excellent suggestions on how to do just that. Thank you so much for sharing.

Depression sufferers need to know that they are the only ones who can make the necessary lifestyle changes in order to feel better.

Thank you very much! I'll try to use some of the advice you game me. I feel that there is smth wrong with me. I feel tired all the time (may be that's because I have too much work), I don't have enough time for myself and it makes me crazy. But I don't want to take any meds as I know that they can help by only for some time, later you become addictive to them.

I completely agree with you about researching anti depressants. Far too many people see them as the solution to all there problems and I completely sympathise with this but research is essential as they may not always be necessary.

Getting out of your comfort zone is huge. There is something very satisfying about growth. If you can learn new things, meet new people, and go new places you are much less likely to be depressed.

Learn to let go. It will soon become clear that there are some things that can never be changed. For instance, you cannot change the way another person is but you can change how you interact with them. In fact, you can choose not to interact in many cases. Or, you cannot change what your government is doing as a single human being but you can join with others and activate for change through peaceful and legal channels. For the things on the list that aren't solvable, either come up with some more general response that is active or resort to a self-protective and passive response which includes practicing meditating to let the sadness go and acceptance that there are some things that can never be changed.
